Ayiiia was the winner of the realworldcasting.com contest thanks to her family and friends who assisted in her win. Even though Ayiiia is from Mexican descent and speaks fluent Spanish she is making her first trip of a long duration to Mexico. She talks about her thoughts. It's not uncommon for her to be violent in her behavior, causing discord among the members of her house. She quickly finds that living in The Real World house is quite a bit more complicated than she anticipated. Ayiiia is a reformed nightclub girl who has a long history of cutting and drug use. Ayiiia could be loyal and unbiased to people she loves, but don't get caught in her trap. She will always hold grudges. Ayiiia has a committed love affair with one woman. The couple was living together in San Diego where she was together with her mom and looking for a new place to settle before her reunion. At the reunion, it was found out that Jonna and she Jonna did not get along because of their differences in filming.

While caring for her mother, who has Stage 4 brain cancer Maria learned that she was in the midst of an illness in her own. In February 2014 Menounos started experiencing troubling symptoms. She tells PEOPLE that she was experiencing headaches and lightheadedness since February 2014. "My speech was slurred. Also, I had difficulty comprehending the prompter on the teleprompter." The results of an MRI revealed Menounos was suffering from a meningioma the size of a golf ball brain tumor that was pushing the facial nerves. Menounos had an appointment scheduled to see her mother's doctor famous Neurosurgeon Dr. Keith L. Black to schedule surgery to be performed on June 8 - her birthday. Dr. Black stated that the tumor was 98 percent benign. However, we wouldn't know that until the time they reach.
